NEPAL

Although already a long time ago, 1985, this was one of our favourite trips. First a stay in Katmandu and visiting the old capitals near by. After that a trekking around the Annapurna massif. It is one of the classic routes, and the reason is clear. Magnificent views, starting in the rice fields at 400 m and after 10 or 12 days reaching the famous Thorung La (5416 m). It is  breathtaking. After that going down again to the greener areas. Having a view on the famous Machepuchare peak and finally ending the 3 weeks hike in Pokhara to recover...

A panoramic view in Gunsang area, not far before the highest point of the route

View from Thorung La at an alttitude of 5416 m
